Ok. So I have given you my super, crazy easy and delicious recipe for making Artisan Bread so that you can through a loaf in the oven whenever you so desire, now I give you my herbed dipping oil.
Admittedly, one of our favorite restaurants is Carrabba’s Italian Bar and Grill. Yes this is a chain restaurant….we have other favorites but Carrabba’s is pretty darn good for being a chain.
Well, they have this dipping oil…and I just can’t help myself with it. I can easily go there just for the bread and oil (and the tiramisu, ahem) I have this thing for garlic…..
So the other day I decided I need to figure out the dipping oil. Let’s just say, I am very rapidly eliminating all need for ever eating out again (other than avoiding dishes, which I am slowly taking care of as well since I now mostly make my kids do them!).
Which is actually (mostly) ok with me. Again, it’s all about controlling the food you eat! I am loving making dishes that taste as good or better than the ones we have ordered out in the past and having them be non-GMO, organic, locally raised, all that. It’s good stuff!
Well, the olive oil I used for this was from Spain, so not so much local….but it’s a very good olive oil.
Ok let’s get on with it:
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced and smushed a little
- 1 tablespoon italian herbs
- It's pretty easy, just place the oil in the dish you would like to dip from, and then put in the garlic and herbs and mix it around a bit.
- It is best if you can let it set for an hour or so to really get those flavors rolling, but it's not necessary.
