Hi there 🙂
I thought I should let everyone know where I am. Not that I have gone anywhere exciting, only that my Internet has been down for the last week and my only source of communication with the outside world is through my iPhone.
That and my sister and her family stopped in for a few days so I’ve been a little preoccupied. They are on their way from southern Washington to Wisconsin. My brother-in-law decided to expand his business out that way so they are on their way there and decided to stop here on the way.
We had a wonderful few days catching up and letting the kids play. At some point during all the talking Rachel and I discussed doing thanksgiving while they were here. I thought that sounded like fun so I went and got a few things at the store and started planning.
I really kept it pretty simple partly because it is also Christian’s second birthday so we decided to jus one big party. So I made thanksgiving dinner and a birthday cake – and have I mentioned I am a little bit pregnant?
By the end of the day my body was done.
Thankfully my sister cleaned the kitchen for me so I could sit for a while.
Everything turned out delicious and I just photographed everything and will get them posted just as soon as my Internet comes back up – which should happen tomorrow afternoon.
Here’s a little teaser of what’s to come… I made turkey with a classic sage and sausage stuffing, I made it gluten free but you certainly don’t have too. I also made some lovely shredded Brussels sprouts that I make every year for thanksgiving. Then there was this heavenly sweet potato casserole – my brother-in-law may or may not have been seen licking the pan clean after dinner. Then of course there is the classic gravy and cranberry sauce for topping things.
It was pretty yummy so please check back for recipes!
