Today and a Little Bit of Yesterday

Share

Yesterday was a bla day. I woke up feeling tired – never a good sign and just blllaaaaaaaa. It was my turn to teach Sunday School and I was not feeling so hot and was having some, ah, issues. Then Juliette started having problems so I made an executive decision not to go to church. Well, Jeremiah took Linus and was able to hand off the sunday school stuff. I hate having to do that when I have obligations and I do really enjoy teaching Sunday School, but when things like that are going on, you never know what’s going to happen or if you are contagious or anything.

I did, however manage to make pizza for dinner and had a bunch of extra dough since I rolled the crust out pretty thin this time, so I let the kids have to play with. They had an awesome time. I’ll post the rest of the pictures in the Albums section.

This morning I had a pretty good workout although I was still a bit tired and didn’t push myself as hard as I would have liked but still, it was a good one. Then we ran around and tried to get a few things done before leaving for gymnastics.

Juliette did awesome at gymnastics today by the way. She has her days where she’s on and days where she just isn’t interested. Today was an on day. She introduced herself at circle time, she said hi to everyone and she sat when she was supposed to sit and wait to do the skill challenges. I was very impressed with her level of maturity today. I think it helped that her friend, Olivia, was there. She really likes Olivia and wanted to sit right next to her the whole time. Olivia’s mom was Juliette’s tennis coach when was doing that for a brief time. I’m hoping to try it again at some point but I just don’t think Jules was ready for it.

After gymnastics we had to go downtown to a hockey gear store to get some snaps for Linus’ helmet. They were missing at the last practice and we had to leave early since it’s a safety issue to not have the face mask strapped on – whoops! I had no idea.

When we got home the new ice skates I had ordered for Linus were sitting on the front steps so Linus was extremely excited about that and wanted to wear them right away. I let him try them on and he says they are very comfortable so I am a bit excited about that! He has been complaining about his rental skates for a while now and we tried several different pairs but he has such wide feet that we really were having a tough time. So this should help I think!

So those are the happenings around here the last couple days. OH and I also got a call from my sister Kirsten on saturday night, she called to tell me that her and her husband are expecting their first little baby! Pretty exciting stuff! I wasn’t expecting her to say that though. You know, it was, hey how are you? Good how are you? Bla bla bla, so what’s up? I’m pregnant.

I laughed.

I guess that is my default reaction? Fortunately of all people, Kirsten appreciates reactions like that and isn’t easily offended. I just really wasn’t expecting her to say that.

But we are really excited for cousin number ten! (my kids don’t have 10 cousins, there are 10 cousins total, am I making sense?)

Congratulations Sam and Kork!
