It’s Almost Christmas!

Share

My Dad loves to wait to get a Christmas tree until right before Christmas. As close as possible to the actual day. This works outs out nicely for my kids cause then when we come to visit we still get to be part of the adventure. Finding a Christmas tree in Washington State is a glorious experience. There are so many to choose from that you can always find the perfect tree. The issue this year is we planned on getting the tree on saturday but then cousin Sam and I had some kind of flu or something and ended up snuggling on the couch all day watching the food network. The funny thing about Sam watching the food network ALL DAY LONG is the fact that he is 4. But he loves cooking and therefor didn’t mind watching it with me. Other than having a fever and chills and being achey it was actually kind of fun.

Until Christian realized mom was snuggling someone other than him.

That really ticked him off.

Then Sam would get upset about Christian trying to steal me back and it was a bit of a tug of war for most of the day.

But I think Sam and I both learned a few things.

I think I may need to try some duck.

Anyhow, so we went to get the tree on sunday.

Linus and Christopher ended up finding, “The One”.

Here’s some of the crowd

Papa thought since the boys found the tree they could cut it down. This is Washington after all and the ground is wet.

They did their best. But eventually almost Uncle Justin took over and finished the job for them.

I have to say ‘almost’ Uncle Justin because my sister, Lissa, will be marrying him in April so he WILL be an Uncle but isn’t quite there yet.

Then the boys helped haul it down to the truck

And while the men were busy doing all the work us girls stood around taking pictures 🙂

Then we all went and got hot chocolate and ornaments and went home to decorate the tree.
