I can’t believe it’s already been a year since Christian joined our family! We had quite the party here for him last night. I am pretty sure he had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Jeremiah’s cousin Daniel and his wife Sarah had their little Adrianne last year also – two days before I had Christian! I have to admit I was super jealous at time that she had Adrianne. Not because I cared who was born first or anything but because I was SO miserably pregnant that I just wanted it over with. So they came down and the idea was that we were celebrating both birthdays. But dinner took so long to cook that by the time we finished eating poor little Adrianne was done and had to go to bed. So we didn’t get to sing her Happy Birthday or anything. We sent some cake home with her though so she could have some later.
It was so fun to be able to spend the day with Sarah and Adrianne though. Christian and Adrianne had a glorious time following each other around. Christian showed her where the garbage is and then the recycling and then they played with the fridge magnets for a while. They were busy.
We also had some other friends of ours over who have four kids, one of whom is Linus’ good friend, Scott. It was so fun to see them again, it had been a while! So we had quite the crowd.
At first Christian wasn’t too sure about what was going on when we put him back in his high chair to have some cake.
But it didn’t take him long to get into the spirit of things, especially once he was given his first piece of cake
I say first because he demolished what he was given in about a minute and then this happened
Well, we figured, you only turn one once so what the heck. Give him another piece…
Well, then it happened again…
Oh dear, what have we created?!!!!! Eh, we’ll work on it later, it’s his birthday. So he got another piece.
But then we cut him off.
