This is my family’s absolute favorite way to eat asparagus.
It’s quick, it’s easy and it tastes amazing. Actually I cook a lot of veggies this way and my kids go nuts over them, brussels sprouts, asparagus, peas, zucchini you name it they love it.
Most likely.
This is the perfect side dish for most things and I serve it at least once a week.

Serves: serves 6
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1lb fresh asparagus
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper
Preparation Instructions
- Snap the asparagus by holding each piece at the very ends and folding in half until it snaps. This will ensure you don’t get the woody end pieces as it will snap to where it is ripe.
- In a medium sauté pan, add the oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add the asparagus and sauté about 5 minutes or until it is soft, add the garlic and cook until the asparagus is a bit brown and the garlic is fragrant.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the top and serve hot.
